In there last meeting Jose Aldo knocked out Chad Mendes in Brazil on January 4th of 2012. It was a fight that not only helped define the career of Jose Aldo as one of greatest featherweight of all-time, it also motivated Chad Mendes the fighter that many view as his only threat to Jose Aldo. Mendes has reeled off five straight wins (four of the KO/TKO variety) and finds himself with a shot at avenging his only loss in his professional mixed martial career. To be sure Mendes provides the drive but Duane Bang Ludwig has changed the striking of Mendes very dramatically. Now there are combinations and power that Mendes never displayed prior to working with Ludwig. Mendes is a former NCAA All American for Cal Poly. Here’s a clip of him knocking out Clay Guida, who had never been knocked out before. Mendes has his rematch with Aldo October 25. it should be very good.
